Set within a wooded hillside near the center of Blumenau, Brazil, Alta Vista rethinks suburban living through a small collection of nine houses designed around the landscape rather than imposed upon it. Conceived over seven years of research, design development, and approvals, the project proposes a residential environment where architecture becomes a mediator between everyday life and nature.

Instead of maximizing built area, the masterplan preserves the site's existing topography and vegetation, allowing each residence to establish its own relationship with the terrain, sunlight, and surrounding forest. The homes are positioned to frame views, ensure privacy, and create a sequence of open spaces that encourage walking, encounters between neighbors, and a slower rhythm of life.

The architecture is defined by generous openings, natural materials, and fluid transitions between interior and exterior spaces. Living areas extend toward gardens and terraces, dissolving the boundary between house and landscape. The changing light, native vegetation, and seasonal transformations become active components of daily life rather than a backdrop.

Alta Vista was conceived not simply as a residential development, but as an alternative model for contemporary housing. It demonstrates how density, privacy, environmental preservation, and collective identity can coexist through careful planning and an architecture that begins with the character of the site itself.
